Zumba DVDs Fitness
Review
The worldwide trend of rising obesity and falling fitness levels
have seen a lot of new types fitness exercises being developed to
cater for the interest of everyone. One of these new exercise
routines that have taken off is the Zumba. The beauty of the Zumba
fitness routine is that is gives both men and women of all ages the
opportunity of keeping their bodies fit and healthy without feeling
like you are in exercise mode.
The Zumba fitness routine combines exercises that focus on a
combination of resistance training as well as a high intensity
interval training cardiovascular workout. This is then delivered to
you through dance moves to a Latin style beat. The short exercises
promote fat and calorie burning whilst toning your muscles. The
basis for Zumba Fitness is to have some fun in a social atmosphere
whilst keeping your body moving and swaying with the Latin beat.
After a period of time I found that I had worked up quite a
sweat.
About the Zumba DVDs Workout
The Zumba
DVDs workout combines many South American styles of dance
including Mambo, ChaCha and the Salsa and combines this with some
belly dancing and other westernized dance routines. They package
this up and offer the workout in many different gymnasiums or for
you to practice at home with your very own Zumba DVDs.
So how many calories does the Zumba burn from an average class?
This is a good question with completing an average class you can
expect to burn between 500 to 800 calories. This can be increased
or decreased depending on the intensity that you can maintain.
Completing one of the Zumba DVDs at home will help you lose weight
and also help to give you with coordination and some natural
rhythm. That beats pounding away on a cross trainer or burning up
hours on the treadmill.
The main ingredients in a Zumba DVD are the dance moves with latin
music. You often feel as you are just dancing around your TV Room
to your heart's content, without a clue that the movements or
dances you are doing are part of a program that has been approved
by the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America, American Council
on Exercises and the Canadian Personal Trainer Association as a
solidly made exercise routine.
The History of Zumba fitness training
Alberto "Beto" Perez has been acknowledged as the creator for this
fitness phenomenon. Perez was working as a fitness instructor when
he came into his class without having music planned for the
session. To keep the class moving and participating, he ran off to
his car and took out some of his personal Latin tunes. And the
rest, as they say, is Zumba history. The Latin style of dancing,
combined with Latin tunes have made Zumba instructors and
participants better dancers all over the world. Also a lot of
people who wouldn’t ordinarily join in exercise classes found a new
and exciting workout that has helped them to shed calories and feel
fantastic.
With the feedback received around the class Perez knew he had a new
exciting opportunity to branch out and improve his routines, and
make the most of the accident that quickly rose in popularity. He
researched about Zumba, dances, and music, then headed off to the
United States where in 1999, Zumba was officially born. Due to the
success of the Zumba Classes the next stage was the creation of the
Zumba DVDs
which have sold well enabling students to continue training outside
of expensive gym memberships.
Fun and Losing Weight with the Zumba DVDs
Zumba DVDs are all about fun with the added benefit of calories
being burnt. A completed Zumba fitness hour, will see the average
person burning around 800 calories, and all the while the
participant sure feels like he or she is just having a blast at a
party. Each of the moves can be cut down into smaller exercises
that are ideal to complete when you have limited time to
spare.
Since Zumba DVD’s cover most aspects of other traditional
exercises, it is easy to see why a lot of people choose to do
Zumba. If you enjoy something you are more likely to pull out the
Zumba DVDs again and complete a regular exercise routine. It is
hard to imagine a scenario where Latin beats and Latin moves are
done in one room together with some rock and roll for laughs. That
is definitely not a scene that says "Workout" to me. Whilst
completing the Zumba DVDs, you never know don’t realise you are
working out; instead you are just having fun, fun, fun!
