To date this fitness utopia has been far away until now. Zumba has been described by many as the best form of exercise that can be completed managing exercise to a new level in a structured class environment or at home in one of the various Zumba DVDs or videos available.

Zumba DVDsam created by Beto Perez, who lived his life as a dancer and choreographer based in Miami. The Zumba Fitness program started in Columbia in the 1990’s, and has grown in popularity since, reaching 35 countries and registering over 20,000 qualified instructors. Due to its initial resounding success, Zumba released a range of various Zumba DVDs to allow its followers to maximise the exercise benefits gained from completing Zumba in the comfort of their home.       

Zumba DVDs are a series of exercise workout DVDs that include a complete compilation of the Zumba fitness program. The Zumba DVDs come in various levels of difficulty, which are appealing for all participants with varying fitness levels. In most cases, it is recommended that people will start with the basics for co-ordination and fitness benefits. You can proceed directly to the full program if you are athletically fit and co-ordinated however the beginner Zumba DVDs will still enable an adequate cardio workout with a bit more instruction for co-ordination. Either way, the Zumba DVDs provide users with guidelines and precautions that participants should review before completing.   

Zumba DVDs are a Unique Exercise Workout

Zumba DVDs differentiate their product from other exercise DVDs due to the product. Zumba participants enjoy the exercise from beginning to end. Many comments from students at the end of their workouts are that they didn’t feel like they were exercising, more like enjoying a Latin party dancing the night away. Many participants thought they had just started when they finished their DVD after a 30 minute medium to high intensity Zumba workout session.   

Zumba DVDs consist of many Latin beats that were personally selected by Perez himself. The Zumba music is traditionally based on music styles such as salsa, cumbia, meringue, samba and calypso. Recently as the product has spread, more music genres have been added into the mix to add more variety and to appeal to a wider audience. The goal of the introductory DVDs is to introduce new dance styles teaching flexibility in adapting to various types styles of music and dance.  

At the end of the Zumba DVDs workout the cardiovascular effects are very comparative to other gym based aerobic workouts. Calories are burnt at approximately 1000 calories per hour, with a solid workout on many sections of the body including the abs, upper and lower body, and your core. The Zumba DVDs are aimed to tone the whole body with participants losing body weight and fat. It has been known in some cases to enable the participant to drop a dress size or a few pant sizes after a few weeks.
